Hot weather has arrived! Today is the first day of summer and even deep in the woods, temperatures high. The air is still and close and sticky. Die-hard hikers will hit the trail in all kinds of weather, but there are some things you can do to keep yourself safe and weather-proof. Here are a few ideas and tips that are cost effective and easy to implement. Stay hydrated. This is probably the most important thing to remember. Nothing hastens heat-stroke like dehydration, so make sure you bring plenty of water with you on your hikes. A belt canteen is probably the easiest way to carry water.
