How to Shop In The Office Depot Store with The Same Benefits as Online

There is a way to get an Office Depot in store card that not only gives you online discounts, but cash back as well not only from your purchases, but from your friends', relatives' and business associates' purchases as well! I find this card to be very useful for purchases of business card stock and paying for copies. Recently, as of writing this, I purchased a lap top and will get both cash and reward points from my own purchase! I told you I'm going to show you how to do this as cheap as possible but you MUST have a think outside the box mentality or it won't work!

Here's How to Get An Office Depot In Store Card with Online Benefits AND Get Cash Back As Well

You can register online after clicking the Office Depot link through the discount website, but the most important thing to do is scroll down until you see the link to get an in store card. Link your IBO number to it so you can get cash back.

While you're waiting log into your discount website and sign up for this credit card which will work in conjunction with the discount website and help you get cash back anywhere you make a purchase. You can also find it under your Partner Stores and Services with just a few of the other Partner Stores in which you may get cash back! Click the credit card to get to the form.

Addendum: Get a completely separate Office Depot In Store Card. When you scan the card to get cash back, give them your phone number associated with the other card and get reward points as well! Triple dipping!

Okay You Got Your Credit Card and Your In Store Card That Gives Online Discounts and Cash Back What Now?

At Office Depot, purchase bright orange card stock. Use your special in store card for discounts and cash back and your credit card for more cash back. Bring this card stock to the copy section of Office Depot after emailing your pdf sheet of business cards. Don't worry, I'm going to show you right now how to make business cards that will take the least amount of cuts on a cutting board!

WARNING: I've tried this method at a different store and it didn't work. The printing on the business cards ran off the edge. THAT is why I use Office Depot and Office Depot only!

Setup for Your Free Software OpenOffice

Open the writer section of OpenOffice

Set all margins to 0.00 top, sides and bottom

Click Table on the top bar

Click Insert

Click Table

Make nine rows and three columns

Uncheck Borders

Right mouse click in the top row first cell

Click Rows

Click Height

Type in 1.97 this is in the U.S.A. so it's measured by inches

Uncheck Fit to size

Make the width of the first and third column just under 3 ½ inches.

The 1.97 x < 3.5 will allow for cutting room. By doing these on the very edges you cut down the number of cuts you have to make.

Make the height of the rows in between of cards .24 inches

Uncheck Fit to size

These dimensions should place your cards on the very edges to avoid extra cutting with Office Depot's cutter

A name to go on the card is also important. I’ve had people who had competitors cards before contacting me because the prospect said it was not clear for whom to ask.

Handing Out Business Cards to Prospects

I find many people almost embarrassed to hand out their business cards. It's often the last thing they do before walking away and in reality should be the first thing done as part of an introduction.

If you're one of those people what are you embarrassed about? Aren't you proud of your business? If you really need an excuse to hand out a business card then ask the prospect for one of his/hers. Then regardless of the answer you now give the prospect one of yours. This should be done in stores, expos, and one on one as well.

Why Orange

People are people regardless of the media. There's an ugly buy button used very successfully online. Each and every part of this buy button was researched including the color. Red was not used. Although red made people stop and it drew attention, red also means emergency and makes people back away. Think of all emergency vehicles that use red flashing lights as a warning.

Thus the color orange is the closest thing to the color red which will draw attention in a positive manner.

Picture and QR Codes

Get a picture of your smiling face on your card as well. The more people can know you're a human being, the more likely they are to call you. Depending on your business instead of a picture you can also place a QR Code on your business card. QR stands for Quick Response. You can also drop off your pdf file on a usb flash drive otherwise known as a USB Thumb drive . I tend to forget my flash drives and they have to catch me before I leave so I prefer email attachments.

Cutting Your Business Cards

Use Office Depot's cutter if it's the type they have at the two store's I've copied and cut business cards. This is the type of cutter where you pull the blade down by a handle.

You can cut five sheets of cards at a time. They'll be six cuts. With all cuts start slow so the cutter clamps down on the cards, then slam it down. This will help keep the cards straight when they're cut.

Cut one inside cut length (long) wise near the first column of cards.

Now turn those cards sideways for the width cuts lining the uncut side to the side ruler to help ensure a straight edge.

Cut in between the cards as I've described above.

Now cut the other column of uncut cards from the first cut in the same manner described above making sure you place the uncut side against the ruler.

This method is saving you three cuts per five sheets! Plus you have plenty of room between the cards to help avoid chopping off information.

Now Do The Most Important Thing You Can Do With Your New Business Cards!
